Violin & Viola Lessons Exton PA
Marianne Richter-Menger Marianne Richter-Menger began studying violin privately at the age of 9 with members of the Symphony Orchestra in Bochum, Germany. She continued and intensified her musical education at the Music Department of Westfälische - Wilhelms - University Münster, Germany, where she studied under Prof. Dr. H. Ledinsky and Assistant Prof. H. Mehring-Knocke.

Regular participation in music festivals for choir, orchestra, and chamber music strengthened her desire to foster in children the love for music and playing together with others. Marianne's musical understanding was further deepened by performing with the Chamber Choir of the Music Academy of Münster.

In 1985 she received a degree in music education, psychology, pedagogy and language arts from the Westfälische-Wilhelms-University Münster and a year later a Diploma in Montessori pedagogy.

After teaching music and German language at a public school in Germany for several years a relocation due to her husband's job brought her to London, England, where she continued studying violin and playing chamber music with graduates from the Royal Academy of Music.

In the mid-90s, the Menger family moved to the United States for good. Together with her husband, a cellist and like herself an accomplished vocalist, Marianne founded a vibrant string ensemble, the Chester County Strings, which performs at weddings, church services, cocktail parties, other functions - or just for fun.
